In the co-main event tonight (Sat., Sept. 24, 2016) at UFC Fight Night 95 live on FOX Sports 1 from Ginasio Nilson Nelson arena in Brasilia, Brazil, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight king Renan Barao looked to get back into the win column in his second contest at 145 pounds when he met underdog Phillipe Nover, who was making just his fourth Octagon appearance.
For three-straight rounds, Nover stood in front of the Brazilian and allowed Barao to uncork his usual wizardry. Barao leaned on his action-first striking arsenal that included flying knees and overhand rights. Nover stood in the pocket and delivered, but he was unable to keep up with the precision and technical effectiveness of "The Baron," who earned the unanimous decision win.

With this win, Barao finally moves back into the UFC win column. Nover isn't the biggest name in the 145-pound division, but a win is a win for a guy far removed from his championship days. If Barao can continue to get the right matchups and evolve as a featherweight, he could crack the top 10 sometime next year.
