World Series of Fighting (WSOF) has revealed its upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) schedule for the remainder of 2016, kicking off with a card on Oct. 7 from Kansas City, Mo., headlined by Justin Gaethje vs. Ozzy Dugulubgov and ending with a year-end "super show" on Dec. 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The promotion has been quiet for a while since "Moraes vs. Hill 2" last month, but with this recent announcement, it looks like WSOF is back in a big way.
The next card on October 7 in Kansas City will see undefeated Lightweight sensation Justin "The Highlight" Gaethje (16-0) take on top contender Ozzy Dugulubgov (8-2) in the main event of WSOF 33 at Kansas City Memorial Auditorium. WSOF 33's co-main event will see WSOF 25 tournament winner Brian Foster (25-9) take on tough Blackzilians-trained fighter Luiz Firmino (19-6), winner of six straight fights.
As for the rest of its schedule, WSOF 34 will be held on Nov. 12 at Budweiser Event Center in Loveland, Colo., for a card that will soon be revealed. The same goes for WSOF 35 on Dec. 3 in its return to Xfinity Arena in Everett, Washington. The marquee event to end its season will be WSOF's New York City debut at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 31 with WSOF 36. With such a historic venue and huge New Year's Eve opportunity, there's no doubt the promotion will attempt to book something big to headline the show.
