The action was hot tonight (Fri., July 22, 2016) when Bellator MMA touched down in Mulvane, Kansas, for Bellator 159 live on Spike TV, as Darrion Caldwell challenged Joe Taimanglo in the main event. But before Caldwell looked to sustain his undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) record, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight knockout artist Melvin Guillard met MMA veteran Dave Rickels for a booming co-main attraction.
After a quick feeling out period, Guillard caught Rickels with two swooping right elbows against the cage that sent "The Caveman" to the canvas. From there, "Young Assassin" proceeded to land devastating ground-and-pound to earn the first-round technical knockout stoppage.

After the victory, Guillard announced that he will officially be moving up to 170 pounds. With sensational talent in the welterweight division, specifically champion Andrey Koreshkov and master blaster Paul Daley, Guillard could find some big fights if he looks hard enough.
