Conor McGregor can say goodbye to at least one record, as Holly Holm recently surpassed the Irishman as the most tested fighter by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
That's according to "The Preacher's Daughter," who recently revealed during a media scrum that she has been tested a total of 14 times by USADA in the past year, surpassing not only McGregor, but Rafael dos Anjos, who have each been tested a whopping 13 times.
"I want to know I didn't need help. I want to know that I did it on my own. Because If I knew that I needed the help, it would kind of be more of a mental thing, that I didn't believe in myself and that's what I needed to. So for me it's never been something I thought to do. And, it also keeps stress off of me that I have to worry about when they show up at my doorstep for a drug test at 6 a.m., because Friday was number 14, by the way. Just within the last year. It's the most. This was the first time only urine, but blood and urine always. They actually did a list of who had been tested the most and Conor and I were tied for the most before I was tested again."
USADA's methods and efforts have proven to be rather effective, most recently popping Jon Jones for estrogen blockers prior to his scheduled title fight against light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 200.
Also, Brock Lesnar, who did participate at the monumental pay-per-view (PPV) event against Mark Hunt, was flagged afterward.
As for Holly -- who faces Valentina Shevchenko this weekend (Sat., July 23, 2016) at UFC on FOX 20 -- she doesn't mind the constant testing, as she says she has nothing to worry about since she has never taken a banned substance.
