GLORY kickboxers have just received some solid incentive to earn a knockout win or compete in a action-packed, fan-friendly fight.
Starting with GLORY 32, which takes place this coming Friday (July 22, 2016) at Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia, all fighters (on main card and Superfight Series) will be eligible to win a "Fighter of the Night," or "Knockout of the Night" bonus. The promotion stated in a press release on Monday (July 18, 2016). Each bonus is worth $5,000 and will be decided upon by talent operations upon each fight card's conclusion.
"With the highest knockout rate in combat sports, [GLORY] thought it was time to reward our incredible fighters for the level of excitement that only they can bring," said GLORY CEO Jon Franklin. "We are even looking at implementing a system that includes a fan voting component down the line."
According to the release, "Fighter of the night" will be awarded to the fighter "that demonstrates the most impressive performance inside the GLORY ring that evening." It was also noted that the fighter who wins that award can be a winner or a loser. The "Knockout of the Night" bonus will be awarded to the fighter who "delivers the most spectacular knockout during the event."
GLORY 32 streams live at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN3, and will also be airing via one-hour delay at 11 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The five-fight main card is headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Serhiy Adamchuk (33-5, 14 KO) and No.2-ranked featherweight contender, Gabriel Varga (27-3, 8 KO).
GLORY 32 SuperFight Series streams live on UFC Fight Pass starting at 7:30 p.m. ET. That card will be headlined by a heavyweight battle between Chopper" Chi Lewis-Parry (6-1, 2 KO) and Maurice "The Pirate" Greene (4-2, 2 KO).
