What a performance for former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight contender Dustin Poirier opposite hard-hitting Bobby Green last night (Sat., June 4, 2016) at UFC 199 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Poirier absolutely smothered Green from the get go with timely combinations and heavy hands that shutdown the mid-fight trash-talking by "King." To Green's defense, he did eat a lot of shots before losing via knockout half way through the first round

For Poirier, his new and improved standup game at the Lightweight level is absolutely fascinating. Chalk it up to not cutting weight and felling refreshed as he enters his physical prime. This victory over Green extends his win streak to four and certainly warrants him a shot at someone ranked within the top 8.
As for Green, his return to the cage didn't go as planned, but he's capable of rebounding and staying afloat in the Lightweight Top 15 rankings.
