Bellator 154 "Davis vs. King Mo" is scheduled for May 14, 2016 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Aside from the Light Heavyweight main event between "Mr. Wonderful" Phil Davis and Muhammed Lawal there were several key Lightweight matches scheduled for the main card on Spike TV.
One of those scheduled bouts featured rising star Jordan Parsons (11-2), whose sole loss in Bellator MMA to date was in a split decision against Bubba Jenkins at Bellator 146. His opponent was to be undefeated fighter Adam Piccolotti (7-0).
All of that is now irrelevant compared to the news today, which Bellator confirmed in a brief statement to the press.
"Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that occurred last night (April 30) involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident. We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition soon."
MMA Fighting is reporting that the bottom right half of his leg was amputated and that he's currently in critical condition. Bellator would like the public's help tracking down the culprit.
"The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Delray Beach Police Department at (561) 243-7800."
Expect more updates on his condition and the status of the Bellator 154 card as they become available.
