Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, who punched his way back into the win column with a five-round victory over "Big" Ben Rothwell a few weeks back in Croatia, will be out of action for roughly three months, according to MMA Fighting.
"Cigano" was forced to go under the knife to repair a nagging shoulder injury.
The Brazilian recently laid out his case for another heavyweight title shot (see it here); however, UFC matchmakers may be inclined to line up the next contender just as soon as the curtain falls at the UFC 198 pay-per-view (PPV) event next month in Brazil.
