"I know that my legal issues are resolved and I'm just now waiting for the UFC to announce my next fight. So I didn't have to go to court, you know, I had a really great lawyer to take care of things for me and it's over and done with. And so I think it's now just a matter of who they decide who [Tate's] next fight is. Whether she's gonna wait for Ronda, or if she's going to say she's going to take a fight against somebody else. And if they wanna put me in that title shot, I would love that. I would love nothing more than that. But if they want me to fight one more and then fight for the title, then I'll do that too. That's the impression that I'm under, is that they want me to fight one more time before I get my shot at the title. And it doesn't make any sense to me, but again, like I said, I'm biased."
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight contender Julianna Pena, who is currently ranked No. 5 in the division, tied a ribbon around her recent legal issue stemming from a late night nut shot in Spokane, Washington, which left a bouncer singing soprano back in January (listen to the 911 call here). That means the only thing standing between her and a return to the Octagon is UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, who has yet to book "The Venezuelan Vixen" for an upcoming fight. While The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 champ is perfect under the ZUFFA banner, she's unlikely to get a crack at the crown with both Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm clamoring for triangles rematches with Miesha Tate. That could leave her with bouts against Cat Zingano or Amanda Nunes, both of which could contend for "Fight of the Night." What say you?
