So there was some kind of weird pay-per-view (PPV) event last Sunday night (March 20, 2016) in Phoenix, Arizona, which featured all sorts of combat sports attractions.
In pro wrestling action, former WWE superstars Rey Mysterio Jr. and Kurt Angle rekindled their pretend feud, while Shannon Ritch and Mavrick Harvey had a bona fide mixed martial arts (MMA) bout. Speaking of MMA, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweights of past and present, Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping, did some mat work to see who was the better grapper.
That brings us to boxing, and the return of former "sweet science" sensation Roy Jones Jr., who was paired off with Vyron Phillips. The 33-year-old "Cannon" has a 7-2 amateur record in boxing, but his UR Fight appearance marked his professional debut.
Considering it came against one of the greatest of all time, the result, not surprisingly, was a foregone conclusion.
