While Matt Schnell remains a promising Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) prospect moving forward, his Octagon debut didn’t go all that well tonight (Sat., Dec. 3, 2016) at TUF 24 Finale live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, dropping a first-round knockout loss to the always dangerous Rob Font.
Not only did Font land a crippling front kick to Schnell’s face that momentarily wobbled The Ultimate Fighter alum, but he perfectly timed a right knee towards the end of Round 1 that proved to be the significant shot of the fight. From there, Font jumped on Schnell and rained down heavy ground-and-pound before earning the TKO stoppage.

With this win, Font earns his second victory of 2016. The 29-year-old has always been on the cusp of breaking out, losing to only John Lineker through four Octagon appearances, but 2017 could finally be his year.
