Former Ultimate Fighter: Latin America winner Alejandro Perez has been pulled from his upcoming tilt with Rob Font at TUF 24 Finale on Dec. 3 Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., due to a collarbone injury. MMA Fighting confirmed the news earlier today (Fri., Nov. 25, 2016), while Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is currently seeking a replacement to challenge Font in the FOX Sports 1 preliminary headliner.
Perez, 27, is coming off a draw opposite Albert Morales back in September, in which the Brazilian had a point deducted after hitting Morales after the second round. Before that, "Diablito" earned back-to-back TKO finishes over the likes of Scott Jorgensen and Ian Entwistle.
Font, 29, was hoping to jump back into the win column after losing to bantamweight title contender John Lineker via unanimous decision back at UFC 198. It was Font's first loss since 2012 and one that snapped an 11-fight win streak. He'll hopefully have the opportunity to stay on the card and end 2016 on a good note.
TUF 24 Finale will be headlined by a flyweight title fight between current divisional kingpin Demetrious Johnson and the winner of TUF 24's 125-pound tournament of champions.
