Little more than one year ago, Gegard Mousasi and Uriah Hall -- filling in for Roan Carneiro -- collided in the Middleweight co-main event of UFC Fight Night 75, which took place inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Mousasi, at the time, was on a two-fight win streak and most pundits and prognosticators expected him to handle The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 runner-up.
But, that was just the "bullshit media" spewing awful lies. Indeed, Hall was motivated and determined to prove all the doubters wrong. And he did just that, scoring an awesome second round finish of the former Strikeforce and DREAM champion. It went a little something like this:
"Hall pops him with a jab, then rocks Mousasi with a spinning back kick to the face. A flying knee lands clean and Mousasi falls to the ground. Hall pounds away until the referee steps in, completing the incredible upset."
Hall will have the opportunity to prove it was no fluke this weekend (Sat., Nov. 19, 2016) when he locks horns with "Dreamcatcher" for a second time in the main event of UFC Fight Night 99, which takes place at SSE Arena in Belfast, northern Ireland, airing exclusively online via UFC Fight Pass. Just like their first encounter, Mousasi -- who is in the midst of a three-fight win streak this time around -- is the odds-on favorite to win the rematch despite the loss last year.
Rest assured, he has done his homework and will do everything in his power to ensure he does not make the same mistake(s) twice against "Primetime" this Saturday afternoon.
