Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) had to make a couple of late changes to its upcoming UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Nov. 12, 2016 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, thanks to a potential United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) violation by Lyman Good.
Enter Vicente Luque, who steps in to tangle with Belal Muhammad on short notice.
Luque (10-5-1) came up short in his Octagon debut, a decision loss to Michael Graves at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 21 Finale in July 2015. Since that time, the “Silent Assassin” rattled off three straight wins — all three of them finishes.
The Brazilian, as they say, is on a roll.
Muhammad (10-1) is still looking to make his mark in UFC after a stellar run on the local circuit. “Remember the Name” dropped his debut fight to Alan Jouban at UFC Fight Night 90, but roared back to finish Augusto Montano just a few months later.
Great fight. Who ya’ got?
UFC 205 will be headlined by the lightweight title fighting pitting 155-pound kingpin Eddie Alvarez against featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Elsewhere on the card, Tim Kennedy collides with Rashad Evans at middleweight, while Donald Cerrone takes on Kelvin Gastelum at 170 pounds.
