World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 34 "Fitch vs. Shields" comes to Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo. on Nov. 12, 2016. The main event that night will see Jon Fitch defending his welterweight title against former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields.
One of the main card bouts originally set to accompany them that night was a heavyweight showdown between former title contender Josh "Cuddly Bear" Copeland (13-4) and former champion Smealinho Rama (9-2). Copeland has had to withdraw from WSOF 34 due to a knee injury.
Rama still has a fight and will now be facing Kevin Sears (4-2) in his Decagon debut. Meanwhile, WSOF President Ray Sefo is thrilled to announce a military themed "Who's the Toughest?" tournament for the show.
"We are extremely excited to launch the 'Who's The Toughest?' program with a group of four professional fighters that have served our country valiantly and who have since been looking for a potentially career-changing opportunity to compete on a major stage," Sefo said.
Shane Kruchten (11-4) and Jeremy Mahon (5-4) will fight at a 150-pound catchweight to open the main broadcast on NBC Sports. Both are U.S. Marine Corps veterans. Fellow Marine Brandon Collins (3-2) will face Chris Morgan in his first pro fight for a bout headlining the WSOF.com prelims.
