Michał Materla KO's Rousimar Palhares at KSW 36. Uppercut from hell. Damn damn damn. pic.twitter.com/Y69FeSde2Z

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight standout Rousimar Palhares attempted to regain mixed martial arts (MMA) prominence earlier today (Sat., Oct. 1, 2016) at KSW 36 from Poland. It was his first fight since getting knocked out by Emil Weber Meek at Venator FC III back in May.
Well, things didn't go the Brazilian's way. Palhares ate a nasty uppercut by opponent Michal Materla in Round 2 before he tumbled over and suffered his second-consecutive knockout defeat. Materla, 32, is more known for his submission prowess than his knockout power.

Palhares, 36, is officially a shell of his former self. The aggressive heel hook specialist has fallen from MMA grace since submitting Jon Fitch and Jake Shields in succession under the World Series of Fighting banner from 2014-2015. There are not too many places left for "Toquinho" to go.
