The domino effect to Cain Velasquez's withdrawal from his UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) heavyweight title fight against Fabricio Werdum is still going strong.
After the Mexican-American fighter was forced out with a back injury, "Vai Cavalo" did the same 24 hours later, leaving Stipe Miocic -- Cain's last-minute replacement -- out in the cold.
Now, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White tells Yahoo! Sports that due to an unfortunate series of events, UFC 196 will shift over to FOX Sports 1 and be headlined by Johny Hendricks taking on Stephen Thompson in a five-round welterweight bout.

Werdum caught flak from Team Miocic after he declared that he'd be willing to fight through his injures if it meant fighting Cain. But apparently, Stipe wasn't worth the risk.
According to Fabricio's manager, those statements were not interpreted correctly.
Nevertheless, UFC 196 will move forward with the remaining lineup on "free" TV, which will also include a hard-hitting 265-pound showdown between Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt.
It may not be "stacked," but it's better than the alternative.
