Dominance from Chris Wade! "It was only a matter of time until I got under that chin and put him to bed" #UFCBoston https://t.co/abYXhqoQOY

Chris Wade never let his foot off the gas pedal when he completely smothered Octagon newcomer Mehdi Baghdad in a Lightweight contest on the FOX Sports 1 "Prelims" portion of the UFC Fight Night 81 card tonight (Sun., Jan. 17, 2016) in Boston.
The New York wrestler came into his meeting with "The Sultan" a red-hot winner of his last five outings, while Baghdad brought a long resume of finishes into this encounter.
The majority of the exchange was dictated by Wade, who scored an early takedown in round one and never gave the Frenchman space to work. Just when it looked like Baghdad was going to make it back to his feet, he was dragged back down to the mat by his opponent.
Wade never managed to land many significant strikes on the ground, but his pace was the story here, which he used to exhaust Baghdad, before he locked in the rear-naked choke later in the frame.
