Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced a fantastic strawweight showdown for its upcoming UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) event on Dec. 12, 2015. That's when Invicta FC import Michelle Waterson will tangle with The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 standout Tecia Torres inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Giggity.
Waterson (13-4) transitioned to the ranks of ZUFFA after a high-profile run under the Fight Pass promotion, capturing a submission win over Angela Magana in her Octagon debut. "The Karate Hottie" is 7-1 dating back to 2009 and could be in line for a crack at the crown with a couple of big wins.
But she's not going anywhere unless she can first take cover from "The Tiny Tornado."
Torres (6-0) may have come up short during her run on TUF 22, but she already holds wins over some of the biggest names in the division, including Rose Namajunas and the red-hot Paige VanZant. The only knock on the 26-year-old Floridian is her inability to finish fights.
A stoppage against Waterson would be a good way to silence the doubters.
UFC 194 will feature the featherweight title unification bout between reigning champion Jose Aldo and interim titleholder Conor McGregor. Elsewhere on the card, middleweight contenders Ronaldo Souza and Yoel Romero hook 'em up for a crack at the winner of Chris Weidman vs. Luke Rockhold, who also compete on Dec. 12.
