We knew the place and time, now it seems we know the opponent.
Mirko Filipovic took to his Facebook page to announce that he will be taking on hard-hitting Anthony Hamilton when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) invades Seoul, South Korea for the first time on on Nov. 28, 2015 for a UFC Fight pass event inside Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena.
It's a rather odd booking, really, as Mirko had his heart set on partaking in rematches against men who have defeated him inside the Octagon. Plus, given that the Croatian striker is near the tail end of his fighting career, you'd think the promotion would give him a bigger name opponent.
Still, that doesn't make Hamilton any less dangerous.
Despite going 2-2 thus far in his Octagon run, Hamilton has the punching power in his hands to get a "W." But, Cro Cop has won three in a row, which includes his beatdown of Gabriel Gonzaga back at UFC Fight Night 64 (recap).
So the former PRIDE FC champion is on a little hot streak.
A win for Mirko would give him only his second two-fight win streak inside the Octagon. More importantly, though, it could set him up for another high-profile rematch in his next outing. A victory for Hamilton, meanwhile, would give him the biggest feather in his cap to date.
UFC Fight Night 79 is expected to feature a Welterweight showdown between former UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson taking on powerful striker, Thiago Alves.
