Not content to simply worry about facing Demetrious Johnson at the upcoming UFC 191 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Sept. 5, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, "The Magician" is also penciling in a champion vs. champion showdown against bantamweight kingpin TJ Dillashaw.
From his conversation with UFC Tonight:
"Give me somebody that I don't like, like the case of Demetrious Johnson, and I'm gonna murder him on the floor. I've already beat Demetrious Johnson once and everyone keeps on telling me that I need to go ahead and do it again, so I'll do it again. I'll go get that title, and then when I've beat up Demetrious Johnson, I'll go beat up TJ Dillashaw. He can sit there and run around and tell everybody that I'm just running my mouth, but I've seen him with his eyes glazed over, him having Herb Dean cuddle him after I knocked him out that last time, I can do it again."
I'd watch that.
Dodson defeated Dillashaw by way of technical knockout to win the 135-pound trophy in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 Finale back in 2011, though it should be noted "The Viper" complained of a premature stoppage (GIF) and vowed to change the outcome if and when they meet again.
First things first.
While Dodson insists he was the winner at UFC on FOX 6, the judges disagreed and gave Johnson the unanimous decision nod. It should also be noted that "The Magician" missed nearly a year of action after knee surgery, while "Mighty Mouse" went on to finish four of his next five challengers.
Dodson has been doing a lot of talking these past few weeks ... we'll soon find out if he can back it up.
