Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently announced a pair of re-worked bouts for the upcoming UFC Fight Night 73: "Saint Preux vs. Teixeira" mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, scheduled for Aug. 8, 2015 inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The injury buy strikes again.
Longtime combat sports veteran Joe Riggs was injured in training camp and forced to bow out of his 185-pound showdown against Uriah Hall. "Diesel" will be replaced by undefeated newcomer Oluwale Bamgbose. "Holy War Angel" (lol) has all five wins by way of knockout.
That's not all.
Flyweight contender Ian McCall was also felled by injury and yanked from his contest opposite Dustin Ortiz. Coming off the bench will be hot-and-cold Californian Willie Gates, fresh off a first-round knockout of Darrell Montague at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 21 Finale.
UFC Fight Night 73 will be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown pitting Ovince Saint Preux against Glover Teixeira, while Sara McMann battles Amanda Nunes in women's bantamweight action. To see who else is getting busy in Nashville click here.
