Conor McGregor may have made good on his trash talk by finishing Chad Mendes in the second round to become the UFC interim featherweight champion, but that didn't stop "Money" from showing respect to his opponent by going over to congratulate him after their UFC 189 title fight, which took place last Saturday night (July 11, 2015) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

McGregor survived several minutes of ground-and-pound on his back in the first nine minutes of their five-round fight, before getting up with 30 seconds left in the second round and landing a brutal flurry to get the technical knockout stoppage at 4:57 (recap).
The two appear to have buried the hatchet despite a tremendous amount of heated exchanges in the build up to their fight. In the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Mendes thanked McGregor for the opportunity to fight him and also to the Irish fans for showing so much respect for their fighters.
