Former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winners Eddie Gordon and Antonio Carlos Junior collided last night (Sat., June 27, 2015) at UFC Fight Night 70 from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Junior got started with a kick that to press Gordon up against the cage. After scoring a quick takedown, Antonio couldn't do much with his jiu-jitsu skills once on the mat.
At least not yet.
After ending the round with some ground-and-pound, Junior tagged Gordon with a mix of strikes in round two, eventually earning another takedown, which ended with a failed leg-lock attempt.
But the submission attempts didn't end there for Junior, as he tried to lock in a standing guillotine on an aggressive Gordon in the final round. But, that too was to no avail.
Junior was relentless, though. After failing on a rear-naked choke earlier in the round, Junior managed to lock it it, yet again, with 30 seconds remaining in the fight. This time, Gordon had no choice but to tap or take a nap.
