Wow. Talk about a bloody mess.
Polish fighter and Strawweight Champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk defended her belt in style tonight (Sat., June 20, 2015) in Berlin, Germany, with a systematic dismantling of challenger Jessica Penne in just under three rounds.
The match couldn't have started with any more intensity than the staredown Jędrzejczyk offered to Penne prior to doing battle.

Gazed into her soul, indeed.
Following a spirited first round in which Penne found limited success nullifying the striking game of Jędrzejczyk, the champion turned up the pressure in the second round with devastating kicks, elbow and punches that left Penne's face a mangled wreck as the horn sounded to save her for a few more minutes.
That relief only lasted for a minute, however, as the Polish fighter continued her brutal assault in the third, tagging Penne against the fence long enough that referee Marc Goddard couldn't stand the violence any more.
If you thought that was impressive, here's what some professional fighters had to say about it on Twitter:
Because great striking and good take down defense wins fights !!! #UFC #knowthesport

Well, Ronda Rousey fans might have something to say about that, but there's no denying this was an impressive performance by the 115-pound champion.
