Going into Bellator 136 on April 10th, former heavyweight champion Alexander "Drago" Volkov was the presumed favorite against Tony Johnson. The "Hulk," however, had other ideas and the judges ultimately decided to score the fight in his favor.
Volkov is eager for another fight to redeem himself in front of the Bellator fans, and the promotion is happy to oblige, but they certainly aren't making things easier for him. The announced main event of Bellator 139 on June 26th pits Volkov against Cheick Kongo, winner of four of his six fights in Bellator.
Kongo is himself on a quest for redemption after a decision loss to "King Mo" Lawal at Bellator 134, a fight in which the larger man and former UFC title contender found himself repeatedly wrestled to the ground and smothered.
Deja vu indeed for fans watching the April 10th show. The current fight card is below.
Bellator 139: "Kongo vs. Volkov" – Friday, June 26, Kanas Star Event Center Arena, Mulvane, Kansas
