Although the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) and spectacle of professional wrestling have their major differences, a large percentage of fans enjoy both of the top promotions in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
A handful of MMA fighters themselves enjoy WWE, and maybe no one loves the action more than top-ranked light heavyweight Daniel Cormier.
Speaking with MMA Junkie before attending WrestleMania 31 tonight (March 29, 2015) the former No. 1 contender gave his thoughts on WWE, and WrestleMania headliner Brock Lesnar.
His words:
"Any guy that's ever fought at heavyweight, or fought around heavyweight, the idea of Brock Lesnar coming back - to your checkbook is like Christmas because you want to be the guy that actually gets to fight Brock Lesnar. I think Brock actually made the best decision for himself and for his family. He does this at a level that no one else can. He's as good of a professional wrestler as I've seen in a long time. This is where he belongs. He's a great professional wrestler, he's a great performer, as he was an unbelievable fighter."
Lesnar of course announced he signed a contract extension with the WWE this past week, officially closing the door on his potential return to MMA.
Currently the WWE champ, Lesnar defends his strap tonight in the WrestleMania 31 main event against Roman Reigns live on pay-per-view (PPV) or the WWE Network from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
