The dust has barely settled on UFC Fight Night 61: "Mir vs. Bigfoot" from Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Brazil, which means it's time to honor those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights last night (Feb. 22, 2015).
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who is heading home from South America with a little extra grease for their efforts.
This time around, Frank Mir earned a "Performance of the Night" for his quick first round finish of "Bigfoot" Antonio Silva in the FOX Sports 1 main event. It marked Mir's first win since 2011, meaning the extra cheddar more than likely smells extra sharp (read full recap here). Marion Reneau was also a big winner thanks to her upset of No. 10-ranked Jessica Andrade on the "Prelims" under card (read full recap here), earning her a "Performance of the Night" nod, too.
There was no "Fight of the Night" award once again tonight. Instead, UFC cut Sam Alvey and Matt Dwyer checks for $50,000 after their highlight-real finishes of Cezar "Mutante" Ferriera and William Macario (watch it), respectively.
Here are the special UFC Fight Night 61 bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Frank Mir
Performance of the Night -- Marion Reneau
Performance of the Night -- Sam Alvey
Performance of the Night -- Matt Dwyer
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible if the information is made public.
