Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added the women's strawweight bout between Joanne Calderwood and Maryna Moroz to its upcoming UFC Fight Night 64 event inside Poland's Kraków Arena on April 11, 2015, airing live on UFC Fight Pass.
"Jo Jo" shares her excitement with UFC.com:
"This is the first time I've not had to travel far for a fight. In my MMA career I've only ever fought in America and India, so it's good to be fighting closer to home. I feel a bit of a connection to Poland too because, in my gym, a quarter of the members are Polish and we do Polish classes. They are always telling me that people in Poland talk about me when I'm fighting and they say I've got a few fans out there, so that's nice. It's been on my list of places to go so I'm glad to be fighting there."
Calderwood (9-0) graduated The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 with a unanimous decision win over Seo Hee Ham last December, while her opponent, nicknamed "The Iron Woman," is a perfect 5-0 with four wins coming by way of submission.
Fun fight.
The UFC Fight Night 64 mixed martial arts (MMA) card will be headlined by the heavyweight rematch between Gabriel Gonzaga and Mirko Filipovic. Elsewhere on the card, Jimi Manuwa goes into light heavyweight battle against Jan Blachowicz, while Seth Baczynski and Leon Edwards hook 'em up in welterweight action.
