Full Metal Dojo (FMD) will stage its fourth event in less than two weeks, but the promotion has squeezed one final bout onto the card and it will feature two Thailand-based heavyweights as an Iranian who is being groomed for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) takes on a French Muay Thai veteran.
Masoud Ranjbar is currently training at American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) in Thailand and his management believes he has the potential to reach the very pinnacle of the sport, but for his debut fight he faces an extremely tough test when he takes on Yoann Gouaida (4-3) who is fighting out of 301 Muay Thai & MMA.
Two of the three fighters to defeat Gouiada would go on to sign with UFC and in seven fights the Frenchman has never been the distance. He has been based in Thailand for several years and standing 6'3" with some fierce striking is a tough test for any opponent.
FMD 4 is set for Live House in Bangkok on Feb. 21 and is headlined by a welterweight fight between multiple time Muay Thai champion Jomhod Kiatadisak and former kickboxing world champion Vorn Viva in a match up which is likely to stir up some patriotic rivalry because the former is Thai while the latter comes from Cambodia.
FMD is currently Thailand's most prominent MMA promotion and this will be the fourth card they've held with the first two taking place in Phuket. The match up between Gouiada and Ranjbar will be the first heavyweight bout that the organization has ever held.
