Say it ain't so, Joe.
Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) color commentator Joe Rogan may be on the last leg of his mixed martial arts (MMA) tour, recently hinting that August will be his final month with the world's leading combat sports promotion.
From his latest podcast (via Fight State):
"My contract's up in August. I might leave in August. It's possible. I like doing shit that scares me. I like taking chances and I like walking away from things. I'm not a big fan of doing the same shit over and over again. I love it, it's not that I don't love it. I just like doing a lot of other shit, too."
I wonder if Matt Hughes is laughing.
Rogan, known in television land as the host of Fear Factor, managed to establish himself as a successful stand-up comic outside of the MMA world and also enjoys a lucrative career in podcasting. It's hard to imagine someone beside Rogan working so well with play-by-play man Mike Goldberg.
But we may not have much choice come next August.
