You can't fault former UFC Lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, for taking it upon himself to spit some game in order to catch Conor McGregor's attention.
"The Answer" has lost just once since dropping to the 145-pound division in Feb. 2013 and was a bit peeved after being passed over for an opportunity to hand "Notorious" his first Octagon loss in an interim title headliner back in July at UFC 189.
During a Twitter Q&A earlier this week (via MMA Fighting), Edgar vehemently ripped into McGregor.
If Conor say he is the king I am going to kill the king in April in Madison square garden if it's passed https://t.co/TG7gh16rOH

The New Jersey native voiced his opinion to McGregor and the world cageside at UFC 189 and has since upped the anty in calling for a collision with the SBG Ireland product.
Both men are undefeated in UFC since 2013 and are coming off of impeccable first-round stoppages of top-notch talents like Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes earlier this month.
Check out those highlights here and here.
Edgar, specifically, is 5-0 with three finishes and has also defeated Mendes' teammate, Urijah Faber, in 2015.
Following his dismantling of "Money" in Las Vegas, he left no doubt in anyone's mind -- even UFC President Dana White's -- that he was the undisputed No. 1 contender in the Featherweight class.
McGregor's team was impressed by the win, but they still have their sights set on a champion versus champion tilt between their Irish shot caller and 155-pound tour de force, Rafael dos Anjos.
With White's approval, McGregor may take to the Octagon for a tussle with the Brazilian around April of next year and then make the first defense of his belt against Edgar, perhaps at UFC 200 in July 2016.
With Nate Diaz now in play for the McGregor sweepstakes because of this, it will be interesting to see how this matchmaking mess shakes out.
