Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey could be gone for a spell, tied up with her commitments outside of the Octagon, like her starring role in the upcoming Road House remake (more on that here).
That means Holly Holm, the woman who knocked her out and took her bantamweight title, can either ride the pine until next summer or take a fight to stay busy before their inevitable rematch. But if and when she does step back inside the cage, who will be her first challenger?
Miesha Tate, perhaps.
"We'll see what happens," Holm told GQ. "Because it might be a possibility."
Other leading candidates include top bantamweight contenders Amanda Nunes, Cat Zingano, and Julianna Pena; however, "Cupcake" outranks them all in the suddenly-crowded 135-pound division (see the full list here).
Is Holm vs. Tate a fight that interests you, the discerning mixed martial arts (MMA) fan?
