Gawdamn! Not even Urijah Faber squeezes that tight down at Team Alpha Male.
Colby Covington came into tonight's (Sat., Dec. 12, 2015) UFC 194 "prelims" fight against Warlley Alves as the slight favorite (-110) and looked to improve his undefeated mixed martial arts (MMA) record to 9-0.
But, Covington was facing an equally game and unbeaten Brazilian in Alves, Middleweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3," notorious for his savage guillotine chokes.
The Team Alpha Male Welterweight looked to get the fight to the ground right away with a takedown to side control that avoided the grasp on his neck. However, as Alves used the cage to get back to his feet Covington tried to grab on again and the 24-year-old pulled out his signature move to secure an airtight guillotine.
Covington bucked and even tried to slam his way out of it but the choke just got tighter to the point where he was forced to tap.
