It's a question we've all wondered about time and time again. Personally, I feel I haven't started the day properly if I don't ask myself, which animal would I rather fight? A bear or a shark?
Well, one lucky lady whose job it is to ask these important questions, Lisa Foiles, sat down with several UFC fighters to put the question to them:
Welterweight Kelvin Gastelum wouldn't even use his bare hands. Cheater.
"A bear or shark? Fuck. Do I have a weapon? Ok, I'd fight a shark with those harpoons, or whatever they're called."
Middleweight Luke Rockhold thinks he could definitely suplex a bear.
"I've always wanted to wrestle a bear. Always. As a kid I always dreamed of getting in there and tangling up. I could get a couple of takedowns on him."
One fighter, welterweight Matt Brown, took the question a little too seriously.
"I guess a bear. Ok so I don't know if you actually know how bears operate is... they fuck you up and then they go away. Once they think you're dead they go away and they come back to eat you. So I'd rather fight the bear because I'll let him... I mean I'll fight him to my final breath but whenever he knocks me unconscious or whatever, he's going to win I'm sure, but if he'll go away maybe I'll still survive."
Light Heavyweight fighter Alexander Gustafsson would lose via split decision.
"Probably, I don't know, probably want to fight both at the same time. And beat them both in my own territory."
Of course, all Foiles had to do was watch this YouTube video to see what lightweight fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov would pick:
Yes he lost, but that bear has a sick kimura.
Anyway, personally I would choose the bear. I mean, you know the saying. I don't have to outrun the bear. I just have to outrun YOU.
