Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight No. 1 contender Nick Diaz is a man of few words.
Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) can attest to that, as the Stockton slugger refused to answer their pot-related questions during last month's disciplinary hearing in Las Vegas, one that cost him five years of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.
But that's okay, as plenty of others (like this fighter-turned-movie star) are speaking for him. That includes pop icon Cher, who unabashedly tweeted her support of the embattled fighter to her millions of loyal social media followers (see that tweet here).
"That's nice of her," Diaz told TMZ.
Nice, but unlikely to help his case against the athletic commission, which also found its way to a White House petition (read it). Then again, his best course of action is an official appeal, something his big-shot attorneys are said to be working on daily.
In the meantime, puff-puff-pass.
