Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Johny Hendricks, at this point, should probably know whether or not he can make the 170-pound limit.
After all, he's been fighting -- quite successfully -- for the past eight years.
Regardless, "Bigg Rigg" is going to make a test cut to 170 pounds, simply to see if he can still do it on his own before making a commitment to move up to middleweight, according to a report from UFC Tonight.
It probably wouldn't be an issue if he stopped ballooning up between fights, but that's what happens when you own your own steakhouse.
The 32-year-old Hendricks (17-3) was forced to withdraw from his Tyron Woodley fight at UFC 192 last weekend in Houston, Texas, after suffering an intestinal blockage, as well as kidney stones, during his difficult weight cut (read the original report here).
UFC President Dana White will likely need some convincing before rubber stamping a return to 170.
In addition, the bearded brawler -- who teased retirement if he was unable to get his weight under control -- may want to reconsider his decision to "man up" and start working with a nutritionist. Daniel Cormier took himself out of the equation ahead of UFC 192 and called it the "easiest cut of his career."
Perhaps it's time to do likewise.
