Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey held court for the mixed martial arts (MMA) media last Tuesday (Oct. 27, 2015) to preview her upcoming UFC 193 pay-per-view (PPV) title fight opposite Holly Holm, which takes place on Nov. 14, 2015 inside Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
But not every topic was centered on "The Preacher's Daughter."
That's because "Rowdy" has been making headlines over the past few weeks for comments made by her mother, AnnMaria De Mars, who upset the apple cart with a scathing critique of Rousey's longtime coach, Edmond Tarverdyan.
She even contemplated running him over with her car.
"Any reaction and response I have for my mother, she's going to hear from me and not a media outlet," Rousey said (via MMA Fighting). "I really don't think that's anybody's business."
Unfortunately for Rousey, the price of fame means her business is everyone's business, because inquiring minds want to know. For example, her recent romance with Travis Browne doesn't really have anything to do with her upcoming fight, but it was trending off the board earlier this month.
As for Tarverdyan? He's only focused on UFC 193.
"It's her mom, at the end of the day, and that's it," he said. "I'm a person that's never spoke negative about anybody's mom and will never do that. I've always said a mom is a mom and that's it. That's all I have to say."
