Garrett Holeve, like many aspiring mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, is hoping to one day step foot inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon. To that end, he continues to plug away on the regional scene with the support of his family and teammates.
"I punch hard as shit," he insists.
What makes Holeve different from most fighters, however, is the fact that he was born with Down Syndrome.
"He's coming with a half a lunchbox to work everyday and he works as hard as anybody else," according to his dad Mitch. "He won't quit. Every day he comes to work."
As you might expect, not everyone is in favor of Holeve's participation in combat sports. His bout against a fighter with cerebral palsy in 2013 was canceled when the state of Florida delivered a cease and desist letter to promoters at the Seminole Immokalee Casino.
That hasn't stopped "G-Money" from pursuing his dream and the video above, "Right to Fight," follows his MMA journey.
