Almost any fight containing perennial Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) contender Dustin Poirier is bound to contain some explosive action.
Such was the case for "The Diamond's" second UFC fight at Lightweight when he collided with the equally talented striker Yancy Medeiros at UFC Fight Night 68 last June.
Before Poirier (18-4) takes on the streaking Joseph Duffy (14-1) on the latter's home turf in Dublin, Ireland at UFC Fight Night 76 this Saturday night (Oct. 24, 2015), re-watch the American Top Team fighter's dismantling of the Hawaiian.
It was a slow start for Medeiros, who was a bit too loose with his striking. A wide-open defense allowed the Louisiana native Poirier to throw a clean right, which landed on the button, stunning Medeiros, who tried his very best to get his wits about him.
Poirier tossed "Frisson" to the ground and was ready to cinch in the rear-naked choke after securing the back of the latter. Medeiros would escape later, using the help of the fence, only to be crippled by a hard body kick and follow-up punches.
