Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is sorting through its 135-pound division with an interesting women's match up pitting Liz Carmouche against Lauren Murphy, who are booked to collide at UFC Fight Night 63, recently made official for April 4, 2015, inside the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
The event is expected to air on FOX Sports 1, with "Prelims" on UFC Fight Pass.
Carmouche (9-5) has struggled mightily since crossing over from the ranks of Invicta. While she gave Ronda Rousey a good scare in their historic UFC 157 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, "Girl-Rilla" has just one win in four Octagon appearances.
A loss here and it could be splitsville.
Also looking to get back into the win column is Murphy (8-1), who saw her undefeated streak go up in smoke at the hands of Sara McMann last August. The dangerous Alaskan has six of her eight wins coming by way of knockout or technical knockout.
Number seven in "Old Dominion?"
In addition to Chad Mendes vs. Ricardo Lamas, UFC Fight Night 63 will also feature a stellar lightweight showdown pitting Dustin Poirier against Diego Ferreira. See the current fight card and rumors for the promotion's return to Fairfax right here.
