Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently tied a ribbon around its UFC 177: "Dillashaw vs. Soto" pay-per-view (PPV) event, whick took place last Saturday night (Aug. 30, 2014) in Sacramento, California. While TJ Dillashaw may have escaped unharmed, his opponent, Joe Soto, was not so lucky.
"One Bad Mofo" suffered one good KO en route to a fifth round loss to "The Viper." Joining him on the list of injured reserves for up to six months is lightweight veteran Danny Castillo, who got banged up in his split-decision loss to Tony Ferguson.
Here is the complete list of UFC 177 injuries and medical suspensions from California State Athletic Commission (via MMA Junkie):
Joe Soto: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) due to a possible right-hand fracture; additional suspension 60 days (60 days no contact) due to a nose laceration; minimum suspension 45 days (30 days no contact) and must undergo an ophthalmology exam for precautionary reasons.
Danny Castillo: Suspended 180 days (180 days no contact) due to a possible right-thumb fracture unless cleared early by a physician.
Tony Ferguson: Suspended 60 days (60 days no contact) due to a right-eyebrow laceration unless cleared early by a physician.
Shayna Baszler: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons.
Ramsey Nijem: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons.

Ruan Potts: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons.
Cain Carrizosa: Suspended 45 days (30 days no contact) for precautionary reasons.
Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
