Mixed martial arts (MMA) fans have gobbled up all the tickets -- rather quickly -- for the upcoming UFC 180: "Velasquez vs. Werdum" pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled to take place on Nov. 15, 2014, inside Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.
From Jaime Pollack, UFC Senior Vice President, International Development and General Manager, Latin America:
"That we've sold out in the blink of an eye is proof that Mexico is ready for its first UFC event and shows the true devotion of UFC's fan base. We couldn't ask for a better partner in Zignia Live, who provided the staffing and technology to keep pace with the high demand and ensure a seamless experience from UFC fans in Mexico and around the region."
Not too shabby.
Headlined by a heavyweight title fight featuring Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum, UFC 180 will also produce a 145-pound match up between Ricardo Lamas and Dennis Bermudez, while Erik Perez fights Marcus Brimage in featherweight action.
Elsewhere on the card, Diego Sanchez locks horns with Norman Parke at 170 pounds and Jake Ellenberger tries to turn away welterweight up-and-comer Kelvin Gastelum.
