Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Brian Ortega made his Octagon debut with a first-round submission win over Mike De La Torre, which took place at the UFC on FOX 12 mixed martial arts (MMA) event back on July 26, 2014 in San Jose, California.
Too bad it doesn't count.
That's because Ortega flunked his post-fight drug test for the steroid drostanolone and had his win changed to a "no contest." In addition, "T-City" was suspended nine months by California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) and will be forced to pay a $2500 fine, according to MMA Junkie.
Ortega took to his Instagram account over the weekend to apologize.
It has been a rough couple of weeks on the drug-testing front.
Not long after the dust settled on the Vitor Belfort/Chael Sonnen/Wanderlei Silva fiasco, two more UFC fighters -- Kevin Casey (middleweight) and Robert Drysdale (light heavyweight) -- were popped for banned substances over Fourth of July Weekend.
Their respective punishments are expected to be handed down in the next few weeks.
