International veterans are going local, and local veterans are going international.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters Miguel Torres and Will Chope were both victorious earlier today (Fri., Aug. 1, 2014) at the Rebel FC 2: "Battle Royale" mixed martial arts (MMA) event in Singapore. Torres took a hard-fought split decision over Takahiro Ashida, while Chope outpointed Mauricio Dos Santos.
Torres updates fans via Facebook:
Tonight I fought for RebelFC in Singapore against a well prepared opponent, it was a war and got the victory. Want to thank all of my students, training partners, everyone who helped teach for me while I was training, my family for all the support, and RebelFC for the opportunity. Felt great to fight a war against a larger opponent and have to dig down deep to pull out the w. See everyone in the gym on Monday, time to get back to work.
Won by Unanimous decision tonight in Rebel Fighting Championship. I want to thank my team at Juggernaut Fight Club. couldn't have done it without you guys. Next opponent is going to be Miguel Torres in the Semi Finals!!
In victory, Torres (42-7) and Chope (20-7) will move on to fight each other later this year.
