Titan Fighting Championship (Titan FC) has signed a pair of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veterans, though longtime fans will probably best remember Akihiro Gono and Yoshiyuki Yoshida for their work on the Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) scene.
Gono (34-19) has been competing for over 20 years, and holds back-to-back wins over Gegard Mousasi and Hector Lombard. After going winless in five straight, the former PRIDE standout notched consecutive victories over Eduardo Garvon and Andre De Jesus for some Brazilian promotion you've probably never heard of.
Yoshida (17-6) is the winner of six straight after a dreadful run in both UFC and Bellator. "Zenko" is perhaps best known for strangling War Machine in his Octagon debut, just a few months after getting kicked in the nuts by Dan Hardy in Tokyo.
Both fighters are expected to debut this year, according to MMA Fighting.
The only downside to the signings is that Gono is 39 and Yoshida is 40, so the clock is ticking on their combat sports careers.
