Whenever Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones lobs one, top division contender Alexander Gustafsson spikes it.
This recent Instagram post from "Bones" is no exception, as the champ revealed a deep cut suffered in training camp that required stitches (video) just two months out from his UFC 178 showdown against Daniel Cormier on Sept. 27, 2014, a spot that originally went to "The Mauler."
But Gustafsson got hurt, and is now making good use of his free time by trolling.
@jonnybones, really sorry for the deep cut I gave you in our last fight. At least you will have a memory from me every time someone opens it up for you. To not make your other eye jealous for not having a cut, I promise to leave a memory on that one as well next time we fight. Now, take care.
If they fight.
Now that Jones painted a bullseye on his face (says this guy), there will be a concerted effort from Cormier to re-open the wound when they collide next month in "Sin City." A win for "DC" puts him in line against Gustafsson and the UFC 165 rematch will have to be put on hold.
