UFC 175: "Weidman vs. Machida" from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 20 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
Errrr... pump the brakes. This is where I remind you the bonus structure has changed. "Fight of the Night" will still be awarded but the best knockout and submission will not earn any extra cash. Instead, there will be two "Performance of the Night" awards dished out.
Got it? Good.
This time around, the heavy hitters lived up to their billing by hitting heavy. The Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida main event, a thriller and potential "Fight of the Year" contender, won "Fight of the Night" honors, while Ronda Rousey's 16 second knockout of Alexis Davis earned her "Performance of the Night".
Elsewhere, Rob Font brought home the bacon for that sick knockout he delivered to George Roop.
Here are the special UFC 175 bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Rob Font
Performance of the Night -- Ronda Rousey
Fight of the Night -- Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
