Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight contender Luke Rockhold has been asking for a rematch against Vitor Belfort ever since "The Phenom" kicked his head into the stands at UFC on FX 8 in early 2013. That was one of three frightening knockouts landed during the TRT-tor era.
Sorry/not sorry.
While the Brazilian is currently focused on his UFC 181 title fight against Chris Weidman, which takes place this December on pay-per-view (PPV), he was gracious enough to take a few minutes to address these comments from Rockhold, as well as some of his other critics, on The MMA Hour.
"I think they are just afraid. I understand. That playboy is still in shock from the kick. He's in shock. People are in shock. That's the word. Lions don't apologize for being lions. I don't. It is what it is. When you get knocked out, just shut your mouth, go to the gym and train. 18 years ago, all of these boys were in high school, and right now they think they are going to use me as a ladder? But the ladder is so high, the altitude is so high they cannot breathe. Hey bro, the altitude is too high."
Sorry, Playbro.
Belfort has been everyone's favorite punching bag since failing his surprise drug test earlier this year in Las Vegas, Nevada. With his testosterone levels through the roof, Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) decided it had enough of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and banned the controversial treatment.
How that affects a "frail" Belfort remains to be seen, but you can bet Rockhold will be watching.
