Dustin Poirier will finally get his chance to put hands on Conor McGregor, as the two talented featherweights have been booked to swing leather at the upcoming UFC 178 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is set for Sept. 27, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC broke the news via Twitter earlier today (July 22, 2014).

The two have embarked in a war-of-words after McGregor defeated Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night 46 this past weekend (Sat., July 19, 2014) in Dublin, Ireland.
Poirier, who wasn't impressed with Conor's first-round technical knockout (TKO) victory, called for a showdown against "Notorious" -- which was accepted -- soon after and vowed to silence all of the "Irish groupies" by proving that "Notorious" isn't all he's cracked up to be.
Time to put up or shut up.
UFC 178 will be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight rematch between division champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson and will also feature the return of Dominick Cruz as he takes on Takeya Muzugaki.
Oh, and "Bones," McGregor is taking a cut of the PPV buys.
